Our last two newsletters have been following E.B. Partridge’s 1912 cross-country trip from Phelps to San Diego.  Please stop in the Howe House to see the entire journey in this fascinating photo album for yourself!  In 1943, E.B. Partridge wrote the book entitled “Excuse My Dust,” the last in the “Country Lawyer” - “Big Family” trilogy of books, and is full of humor and draws a delightful picture of the days of “get out and get under” when the monkey-wrench was as essential to travel as a full tank of gas! A movie was filmed in 1951, starring Red Skelton, Sally Forrest & Macdonald Carey and was loosely based on the book.  We will show this delightful movie in the Oak Room of the Howe House.  Red Skelton plays an inventor and has an idea and a driving ambition! Come and enjoy the movie with us at the beautiful Howe House.  Light snacks and water will be provided.
